As Chief Operating Officer of Kinea Bio, Seung Wook is spearheading the company’s research and operation encompassing both viral and non-viral therapeutics development. Seung Wook has demonstrated scientific expertise and leadership in his academic and industry career spanning over 27 years. Particularly, he played a key role in the pioneering research program which developed the Allen Mouse Brain Connectivity Atlas, a groundbreaking public database that describes for the first time how the mammalian brain is wired. As a lead scientist and scientific program manager, he led interdisciplinary teams to build this landmark public resource, while successfully meeting highly competitive milestones and timelines. Thereafter, Seung Wook led the development of an innovative drug delivery platform called BioDrone® as Chief Scientific Officer at MDimune (Seoul, South Korea). Under his scientific leadership, MDimune demonstrated the therapeutic potential of this novel platform by showing safe and efficient delivery of diverse gene cargoes using nanovesicles derived from natural human cells. At MDimune, he also led corporate development  with investors and global partners, accomplishing multiple out-licensing deals and two rounds of equity financing (~$25M). BioDrone® technology was recognized with the prestigious Edison Award (bronze medal) in 2023 and IR52 Jang Young-Shil Technology Innovation Award by the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT.
